Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output

The NST175 is a low-power, high-precision digital temperature sensor ideal as an alternative to negative temperature coefficient (NTC) and positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistors. The device provides typical accuracy of ±0.5 °C without calibration or signal adjustment from external components. NST175 temperature sensor is a highly linear product, which can sense the temperature without complex calculation or lookup. The on-chip 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) provides resolution as low as 0.0625 ° C. The NST175 is compatible with SMBus and I2C, allowing a maximum of 27 devices to be connected to one BUS and supporting the SMBus alarm function. The NST175 has a rated operating range of -40 °C to 125 °C and is ideal for extended temperature measurement in a wide range of communications, computing, consumer products, Internet of Things, environmental, industrial and instrumentation applications. NST175 comes in industry-qualified MSOP8 and SOP8 packages.

  • TMP421

Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output

The TMP421, TMP422, and TMP423 are remote temperature sensor monitors with a built-in local temperature sensor. The remote temperature sensor diode-connected transistors are typically low-cost, NPN- or PNP-type transistors or diodes that are an integral part of microcontrollers, microprocessors, or FPGAs. Remote accuracy is ±1°C for multiple IC manufacturers, with no calibration needed. The two-wire serial interface accepts SMBus write byte, read byte, send byte, and receive byte commands to configure the device. The TMP421, TMP422, and TMP423 include series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideality factor, wide remote temperature measurement range (up to +150°C), and diode fault detection. The TMP421, TMP422, and TMP423 are all available in a SOT23-8 package. The TMP421C is also available in a DSBGA (WCSP) package.

  • TMP114

Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output

The TMP114 is a high accuracy, I 2C-compatible digital temperature sensor in an ultra-thin (0.15 mm) 4-pin package. The small size and low height of the TMP114 package optimizes volume constrained systems and enables novel placement of the sensor under other surface mount components for the fastest and most accurate temperature measurement. The TMP114 has an accuracy of ±0.2°C and offers an on-chip 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides a temperature resolution of 0.0078°C. The TMP114 is 100% tested on a production setup that is NIST traceable. To maximize battery life, the TMP114 is designed to operate from a supply voltage range of 1.08 V to 1.98 V, with a low average supply current of less than 0.7 µA.

  • DS18B20

Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output

The DS18B20 digital thermometer provides 9-bit to 12-bit Celsius temperature measurements and has an alarm function with nonvolatile user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. The DS18B20 communicates over a 1-Wire bus that by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. In addition, the DS18B20 can derive power directly from the data line ("parasite power"), eliminating the need for an external power supply. Each DS18B20 has a unique 64-bit serial code, which allows multiple DS18B20s to function on the same 1-Wire bus. Thus, it is simple to use one microprocessor to control many DS18B20s distributed over a large area. Applications that can benefit from this feature include HVAC environmental controls, temperature monitoring systems inside buildings, equipment, or machinery, and process monitoring and control systems.
